3 solutions for accessibility

Inclusion is a major challenge in existing stock. However, door automation often faces complex technical challenges, such as narrow shafts and tight dimensional constraints..

Accessibility is at the heart of our commitments. Among our modernization solutions, three models stand out for their minimal footprint, providing full automation even in the most confined spaces. Designed for quick and hassle-free installation, these products ensure full compliance with current French regulations.

The SD130 Automatic Door : Cabin Space Automation

The SD130, a 4-panel central-opening door, is the perfect solution for existing elevators with small cabins. Its main advantage lies in its minimal space requirement: the door assembly (landing door and car door) is no more than 130 mm thick.

It has been specifically designed to make automation possible in the smallest spaces :

  • No heavy construction work : No need to break walls or enlarge the opening.
  • No cabin modification : In 90% of cases (especially for 300 kg cabins), the cabin surface is preserved.
  • Significant time savings thanks to a a significantly simplified installation.

The SD130 has established itself as the essential solution to ensure maximum user comfort while eliminating the constraints of traditional construction work.

Plypal : Flat Folding Closure

Our latest innovation, PLYPAL, is a flexible, silent folding landing door whose panels fold perfectly flat. Designed to operate as a duo with our PLYCAB car door, it opens new automation opportunities where installing an SD130 door is not the best option.

A genuine advantage for the narrowest shafts :

  • Guaranteed minimal space requirement : Thanks to its folding motion, the panels retract directly within the frame, eliminating any lateral clearance constraints. The clear opening is fully maintained.
  • Full accessibility : The door opens and closes automatically, without any effort required from the user, advantageously replacing a heavy swing door that is difficult to operate and whose opening radius can be problematic.
  • Recognized expertise : This technology, synonymous with engineering excellence, recently enabled Slycma to win an Elevator Trophy.

Plypal is the ideal solution for existing buildings with very limited space.

Swing Door Motorization : An Economical Solution

When the budget is limited or when the original look must be preserved, swing door motorization is the ideal alternative, especially for home lifts.

The motorization is integrated directly into the door frame, making it completely invisible.

  • Controlled cost : This solution automates a swing door for a price significantly lower than a complete replacement with a sliding or folding door.
  • Flexibility : Installations can be adapted to your needs. For example, you can automate only the ground-floor landing door while keeping manual swing doors on upper floors, ensuring targeted and optimized accessibility.

Standards and Compliance

All our solutions comply with current French and European standards for safety and accessibility.

Our products are designed to ensure your projects meet three fundamental regulatory pillars :

  • EN 81-20 (Safety rules for the construction and installation of elevators) : Compliance guarantees robustness, safe working spaces for maintenance, and adherence to minimum cabin dimensions—crucial aspects optimized by our compact solutions.
  • EN 81-70 (Accessibility of elevators for all persons, including those with disabilities) : Our sliding (SD130) and folding (Plypal) doors are developed to maximize clear opening and ensure compliance with maneuvering requirements.
  • NF P 82-230 (Safety rules for elevators in exceptional situations) : This standard specifies the safety rules to be applied when working on an existing elevator following an exceptional event or when replacing a key component with a design or manufacturing defect. It governs the safety modernization of installations and bridges the gap between older regulations and EN 81-20—a crucial distinction for managing your renovation projects.
